Cablenet’s SIP service ( pdf icon ) is a private IP-to-IP connection between the business customer and Cablenet’s soft-switch.

For who?

Ideal for all company sizes with a switchboard who require specific, multiple telephone lines and wish to reduce their telecommunication costs since they are offered at lower rates.

Characteristics

SIP is a simple protocol that can be easily customised, provided that the customer’s switchboard supports the SIP protocol.

SIP Trunk provides substantial savings over traditional TDM telephone lines (e.g. PSTN, ISDN), with the ability to scale up and upgrade. Unlike traditional telephony where bundles of wires are installed in a business, SIP Trunk allows for the replacement of all traditional PSTN and ISDN fixed lines with one SIP Trunk service, whereby an investment in SIP Trunk results in quick and significant ROI.

The only prerequisites for its effective operation is that the business customer’s switchboard must have IP Ethernet interface and support SIP protocol.

Cablenet offers SIP products via copper and fiber optics with coaxial cable technologies (DOCSIS 3), Ethernet and ADSL, depending on geographical coverage availability, price and codec (G.711 Alaw, G.729) required by the business customer.
